A CONFIDENT START TO A GAME FOR LIFE

Real golf skills without taking the fun out of learning

Between the ages of eight and twelve, children are ready to understand more about how golf works, but that does not mean lessons need to become serious or complicated.

Tiger Golf combines games, challenges and friendly competition with age-appropriate coaching that helps children develop genuine golfing skills.

Complete beginners are very welcome, as are children who have already spent time playing golf or practising at the range.

“Children need the freedom and time to play. Play is not a luxury, play is a necessity.”

Kay Redfield Jamison

We believe that children learn brilliantly when they are involved, experimenting, solving problems and enjoying themselves.

WHO IS TIGER GOLF FOR?

For children ready to learn more while still having plenty of fun

Tiger Golf gives young golfers a structured pathway without expecting them to already know how to play.

🐯

Boys and girls aged 8 to 12

The age range is a guide rather than a rigid rule. We want every junior in the group that best suits their experience, confidence and development.

Beginners are welcome

Your child does not need any previous golf experience. We can start from the very beginning and build their skills gradually.

⏱️

60-minute sessions

Longer sessions give juniors time to learn, play games, complete challenges and explore different parts of the game.

🏌️

Clubs are provided

There is no need to buy golf clubs before they start. We provide correctly sized junior equipment at no extra cost.

🎯

Skills with a purpose

Children develop putting, chipping and full-swing skills through games and challenges that make improvement meaningful.

🤝

Social and supportive

Group coaching gives children the opportunity to make friends, work together, compete positively and encourage each other.

WHAT WILL THEY LEARN?

Building more complete young golfers

Tiger Golf introduces the skills and knowledge children need to become more confident and independent golfers.

Full swing

Learn the basics of grip, set-up, balance and movement while discovering how to strike different golf shots.

Putting & short game

Develop touch, distance control and decision-making through putting, chipping and short-game challenges.

Rules & etiquette

Start understanding how golf is played, how to keep everyone safe and the good habits that help juniors enjoy the course.

Scoring & decision-making

Learn that golf is not just about hitting the ball. Juniors begin thinking about targets, choices, scoring and how to solve problems.

Confidence & resilience

Golf provides constant little challenges and helps children discover that mistakes are simply part of getting better.

Teamwork & friendships

Games and group challenges help children communicate, support one another and enjoy being part of the Dunes junior golf community.

MORE THAN A WEEKLY LESSON

The best way to improve at golf is to play golf

That is why we give Tiger Golf juniors extra opportunities to practise and enjoy the game between coaching sessions.

🏌️

Free range practice

Tiger Golf juniors can enjoy a free basket of range balls each day while enrolled in the programme, helping them practise what they have learned.

Free Chip n Putt

Our 9-hole Chip n Putt gives juniors a fun way to experience targets, scoring and real golf situations with family or friends.

🧰

Free junior club use

We provide correctly sized clubs so there is no pressure to buy equipment before your child is ready for their own set.

GROWING THROUGH GOLF

There is much more being developed than a golf swing

Golf is unusual because every shot asks a child to make a decision, accept an outcome and then try again.

That makes it a fantastic environment for developing skills that reach far beyond the golf course.

Confidence Seeing practice turn into improvement
Focus Learning to concentrate on one challenge at a time
Resilience Discovering that one bad shot does not matter
Independence Making choices and solving problems for themselves
Friendships Sharing games and challenges with other juniors
Coordination Developing balance, movement and athletic skills

THE DUNES JUNIOR GOLF PATHWAY

The next step after Tiger Cubs, with somewhere to progress afterwards too

Tiger Golf sits in the middle of the Dunes Junior Golf pathway, helping children move from their first experiences of golf towards becoming increasingly confident and independent players.

Age is a guide. Our coaches will always consider the programme that best suits the individual child.

QUESTIONS PARENTS OFTEN ASK

Tiger Golf FAQs

A few of the things parents understandably want to know before their child starts.

My child has never played golf before. Can they join Tiger Golf?
Absolutely. Tiger Golf is suitable for complete beginners as well as children who already have some golfing experience.
Does my child need their own golf clubs?
No. We provide correctly sized junior golf clubs at no extra cost, so there is no need to buy equipment before they start.
What should my child wear?
Comfortable clothing and trainers are ideal. Traditional golf clothing and golf shoes are not required.
Can parents stay and watch?
Yes. Parents are welcome to stay and watch the session.
My child is nearly 8 or nearly 13. Which programme should I choose?
The age ranges are guides rather than strict cut-offs. Confidence, experience and development all matter, and our coaches can help decide which group will give your child the best experience.
What if my child already plays quite a lot of golf?
Tiger Golf can still be a good fit, but if they are already playing regularly and are ready for more advanced coaching, we can review whether the Development Squad would be more suitable.
What happens if my child misses a session?
Please let us know if you cannot attend. Where another suitable class has space we will always try to help, although alternative sessions cannot be guaranteed.
How do I get priority when spaces become available?
Join our Junior Golf Waiting List. Registered families receive priority access to suitable remaining spaces before they are released for general booking. We also use the waiting list when new classes or future coaching blocks become available.
